Our Story
SOS Pet Rescue was formed in 2023 by two best friends who share a mutual connection with stray cats and dogs. They see past dirt, wounds and fleas into the true soul of each animal. With a combined 25 years in the veterinary/rescue world, they were ready to use their experience to make a real difference in the lives of cats and dogs who are often ignored, discarded and abandoned.
Our Vision
To have a controlled pet population, where all dogs and cats are safe, medically cared for, loved and understood.
Our Mission
To rescue, protect and advocate for stray, feral and abandoned cats and dogs in the Poconos and Slate Belt communities.
Our Core Values
We encourage compassion, through education, medical assistance and feline TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). We believe every pet deserves a chance to be loved in a home or protected in a safe community.

Our Goals
We may be starting small, but our goals are lofty. We want to share those goals with you all so that you can see exactly what we are working toward with your donations.
– A Shelter Facility – We look forward to finding a location to house and care for adoptable pets.
– A Low-Cost Veterinary Clinic – Our community is in desperate need of affordable veterinary care. We plan to obtain funding and assistance to open a quality veterinary clinic to provide wellness and sick visits, as well as spay/neuter services.
– A TNR Program – We know that Trap-Neuter-Release is the backbone of cat rescue and we plan to focus a large amount of our resources to helping our community minimize the overpopulation of stray and feral cats.
